Heat Wave Devastates India’s Mango Harvest

AKBARPUR, India—A mango orchard nestled within the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has handed by means of three generations of Deepak Kumar’s household. His grandfather planted the saplings 35 years in the past and by June, the bushes are often heavy with fruit.

This season’s record-breaking excessive temperatures, which started in March, have devastated the orchard. Mr. Kumar estimates that his mango harvest will plunge by at the very least 70%.
