Unity Software agreed to purchase ironSource Ltd., in a $4.4 billion, all-stock deal, becoming a member of forces with the Israeli mobile-app and ad-tech firm because the broader tech trade faces a slowdown in digital promoting.

The transaction, introduced Wednesday, combines two suppliers of providers for videogame and different software program builders. It comes amid a rout in know-how shares and a series of layoff announcements and hiring freezes in the trade tied in half to a slowdown in digital advertising sales. Last month Unity laid off about 4% of its workforce, saying the transfer served as a method to higher match the dimensions of its employees with its wants.
