Hong Kong’s Crackdown on Dissent Hits Facebook Pages


HONG KONG—A national-security crackdown in Hong Kong has prolonged to Facebook pages on which many staff and residents traded gossip.

Several distinguished Facebook pages that had been used to share nameless feedback about authorities and academic establishments in Hong Kong have shut down in latest days, following the arrest final week of two males by national-security police on suspicion of sedition. The males had been directors of a social-media group and suspected of publishing posts that “promote feelings of ill-will,” police mentioned.
