American Airlines to Pay Pilots Triple to Work Flights Dropped in Computer Glitch


American Airlines Group pays pilots triple their regular wages to work flights that have been mistakenly dropped due to a computer glitch, the union that represents American’s pilots mentioned.

The Allied Pilots Association union mentioned Wednesday that its board ratified an settlement with the airline that features the additional pay for journeys affected by a problem with an airline scheduling platform over the weekend. The system had mistakenly allowed pilots to drop hundreds of future journeys early Saturday morning, leaving as many as 12,075 July flights with out a captain or first officer, or each, the union had mentioned.
