UW Health nurses plan to issue strike notice Friday

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Hundreds of nurses who work for UW Health plan to notify directors of their intention to strike in the event that they don’t acknowledge their union in a protracted battle to regain bargaining rights.

The union, SEIU Healthcare Wisconsin, stated it is going to issue the legally required 10-day notice of its intent to strike on Friday, setting the clock ticking for a potential strike Sept. 13 to Sept. 16, the Journal Sentinel reported.

The notice follows a vote taken by tons of of nurses final month during which 99% authorised transferring ahead with the strike, in accordance to the union.
