Three Virginia universities partner to provide greater mental health support for students

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Tech, James Madison University and Virginia Commonwealth University have reportedly entered right into a system-wide settlement for telehealth and tele-mental health providers with TimelyMD.

The new system will likely be carried out within the fall 2022 semester and is predicted to convey extra mental health evaluation and remedy providers to all students at a time when pupil mental health considerations are growing throughout the nation.

“The mental and emotional health of every student, whether they are on campus, with family, or in our larger community is integral to student success at Virginia Tech,” stated Virginia Tech President Tim Sands. “It’s important to support our students’ educational experience and well-being with accessible mental health coverage.”

TimelyMD is a digital health and well-being useful resource particularly designed for establishments of upper training. • Appointment-based mental health counseling
  • Psychiatric support
  • Health teaching
  • Care navigation with primary wants

In addition, 12 scheduled counseling visits can be found without charge for every pupil all year long.
