Nassau health commissioner resigns | Long Island Business News

Dr. Lawrence Eisenstein is leaving his function as Nassau County’s health commissioner to pursue alternatives within the non-public sector.

Eisenstein served on this function since 2009 and steered the county by way of many of the pandemic.

He will depart the county spot on the finish of July, officers mentioned.

“Dr. Eisenstein has helped lead the county through some of the most tumultuous times in our history as we struggled to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic,” Bruce Blakeman, the county government, mentioned in a press release.

“Serving multiple administrations, his professionalism, work ethic, knowledge, and commitment to the residents of Nassau County is unmatched,” he added. “I want to thank him for his years of service, and wish him great success as he embarks on the next chapter of his career.”
