More proof that gardening helps boost mental health – Duluth News Tribune


ROCHESTER, Minn. — If you had entry to remedy that reduces stress, anxiousness and despair and boosts happiness, would you’re taking it? A

new study

suggests that a drug like that does exist — within the type of gardening.

Researchers from the University of Florida divided a small group of wholesome girls into two teams. One group participated in gardening session twice per week and the opposite engaged in artwork. Both teams confirmed enhancements in mental health. But the gardeners reported a better discount in anxiousness.

“Past research have proven that gardening might help enhance the mental health of people that have current medical circumstances or challenges,” says Dr. Charles Guy, principal investigator and a professor emeritus within the University of Florida environmental horticulture division. “Our examine exhibits that wholesome individuals may expertise a boost in mental properly being by means of gardening.”
