British Fashion Council announces winners of The Fashion Awards 2023

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has revealed the winners of The Fashion Awards 2023 (TFA) offered by Pandora. Organised by the BFC, the occasion is the first fundraiser for the BFC Foundation Charity and celebrates the position of trend on the intersection of tradition and leisure, spotlighting artistic expertise and telling the tales of the 12 months in trend via the lens of function, excellence, and creativity.

TFA nominees and winners are voted for by a world judging panel made up of over 1000 trade consultants, the BFC mentioned in a press launch.

The Fashion Awards 2023, organised by the BFC, highlighted excellent contributions to trend.
Valentino Garavani obtained the Outstanding Contribution to Fashion award, celebrated with a present of iconic purple clothes.
The occasion honoured Dame Vivienne Westwood for design and activism, and Joe Casely-Hayford posthumously for contributions to trend.

Valentino Garavani was honoured for his excellent contribution to trend. This was celebrated with a trend present of 24 of essentially the most iconic purple clothes to a backdrop of—a night on the opera with Valentino, the ballet which was filmed final month in his hometown, on the metropolis of Voghera, which devoted its theatre to him.

The Fashion Awards afterparty was hosted by Skepta, music icon and founder and artistic director of trend label, Mains – which made a triumphant return in 2023 after a four-year hiatus. By carving his personal path in each trend and music, Skepta continues to redefine trade norms, setting the stage for a brand new period of creativity and self-expression.

The British trend trade paid tribute to Dame Vivienne Westwood and her fearless method to design and activism and recognised Joe Casely-Hayford with a posthumous Special Recognition Award for his unbelievable contributions to trend and tradition.

TFA celebrated this 12 months’s New Wave: Creatives cohort. The accolade represents 50 of essentially the most modern and provoking younger artistic abilities from all over the world spanning continents and artistic disciplines. Each winner obtained a novel trophy designed by stylist, artwork director and 2022 New Wave: Creative Julie Liu in collaboration with British glass manufacturing firm World of Glass.
