U.S. Retail Spending Held Steady in July

U.S. retail spending held regular in July in contrast with the prior month as customers saved cash from falling gasoline prices and boosted purchases elsewhere.

Overall retail sales—a measure of spending at shops, on-line and in eating places—had been flat in July in contrast with the prior month’s revised 0.8% improve, the Commerce Department mentioned Wednesday. With gasoline and auto gross sales faraway from the image, gross sales rose 0.7% final month from June.
