Toyota Starts Plant in Junta-Led Myanmar Making 1 to 2 Cars a Day

TOKYO—Toyota Motor Corp. mentioned it has begun producing vehicles at a new plant in Myanmar that had been on maintain after the nation’s army seized energy in a coup final 12 months.

Toyota started assembling one or two vehicles a day at its plant in Yangon final month, a spokeswoman for the Japanese auto maker mentioned Wednesday. She mentioned Toyota wished to contribute to the economic growth of Myanmar and the livelihood of native staff and their households.
