Hospitals May Recoup Billions of Dollars in Drug Payments Under Supreme Court Ruling

The Supreme Court mentioned the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services unlawfully lower profitable pharmaceutical subsidies to some hospitals, in a victory for hospitals that had disputed the transfer.

The unanimous choice on Wednesday reverses two years of the cuts, which have been made beginning in 2018 as a centerpiece of the Trump administration’s health-policy agenda. The cuts sharply lowered federal subsidies underneath a program, generally known as 340B, created to assist buoy hospitals that take care of bigger numbers of uninsured sufferers.
