Endo International Files for Bankruptcy to Weather Opioid Lawsuits

Endo International PLC turned the most recent pharmaceutical firm to file for chapter below the load of lawsuits alleging it performed a job in fueling the opioid disaster.

The drugmaker, domiciled in Ireland with operations in Malvern, Pa., filed for chapter 11 safety Tuesday within the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York after struggling with more than $8 billion in debt, competitors from generic producers and opioid litigation. Endo stated that the majority of its first-lien collectors have agreed to purchase the enterprise out of chapter, in return for $6 billion in debt forgiveness.
