Atlantic City Casino Workers Vote to Authorize Strike

Atlantic City on line casino staff voted to authorize a strike for elevated wages forward of the Fourth of July vacation weekend.

Unite Here Local 54’s contracts with Atlantic City’s main casino-hotels—together with MGM Resorts International Borgata and Caesars Entertainment Harrah’s and Caesars properties—expired on May 31. Organizers say staff’ wages have fallen behind in recent times by the 2008 financial downturn, the damages from Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the latest pandemic and inflation.
