ADHD Specialists Worry Stimulant Drugs Are Overprescribed, Push for Treatment Guidelines

A gaggle of specialists in attention-deficit hyperactivity dysfunction plan to create the primary U.S. tips for diagnosing and treating the situation in adults, partly as a result of proliferation of telehealth corporations that they fear are prescribing stimulant medications irresponsibly.

Led by the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders, the hassle is motivated partially by growing demand for ADHD treatment and drugs, notably throughout the pandemic when extra mental-health care has been happening on-line, members say.
